A traditional English centre forward who deserves to be remembered in the same breath as the other great players of the George Graham era. A footballing gentleman who remarkably, almost unbelievably was only booked once in a professional career spanning 14 years. “Smudger” Smith led the Arsenal line in both of George Graham's championship winning teams and few before or after have done the job better.
